š š„³ š HAPPY NEW YEAR! š š„³ š Looking into 2023!!!
I hope this finds everyone well and excited for the New Year! There is much to look forward to based on the technology advancements made last year and expectations for this year. The ChatGPT is new, exciting, and scary. Attorneys, paralegals, and those considering entering into the practice of law are concerned that this kind of software may curb the need to hire members of the profession. But, as I recently blogged, AI cannot make the necessary judgments and deliberations that only a human being trained in law practice can provide. š At least not yet. š
Technology should serve as a tool for attorneys to use in their work, not as a replacement for the attorney themself. Many "Do-It-Yourself" platforms have a "retain an attorney" option if a customer needs it. Meanwhile, an attorney's ability to expand our workflows with new tech, use current tech that is more efficient, accessible, and affordable, and soon purchase new tech that we do not yet know is coming out, has me excited about 2023!
I'll be traveling (I hope) a lot this year to learn more about implementing the advancements of technology into the practice of law and get a glimpse of what is on the horizon. I should be in Chicago for the 2023 ABA Techshow & MacStock VII, New York for Legalweek, Orlando for Podfest Expo. Hopefully, I'll be elsewhere this year as I branch out and look for other conferences and events to attend! If you see me, please say "hi!" š¤
As for my future endeavors this year, the Award-Winning The Tech-Savvy Lawyer.Page Podcast has several episodes in the can. Admittedly, I got a little behind with post-production over the Holidays. Worse yet, I tested positive for COVID on January 1, 2023. Not the way I wanted to start the year! But it can only get better from here!
So, the New Year may start off a little slow for the next couple of weeks. My New Year's resolution is to pick up the tempo with podcast episode releases, more "how to" blog postings, a vlog component to the blog, and more great content as the year continues!
Thank you for following the blog and podcast! Please send your ideas and questions to me at MichaelDJ@TheTechSavvyLawyer.Page. Give us a "Five-Star" Review on Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcast downloads and streams.
Happy New Year! I think it's going to be exciting!!! š
