BOLO! Attorneys using Windows' network software may be exposed!
The Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency announced those using my Windows Server 2008 R2 and later should download a recently released patch. The flaw allows “The flaw … lets attackers with network access 'completely compromise' Active Directory services on a network without using a sign-in —a hacker could run amok if they get through. “ A hacker could cause major disruption with this security hole; this includes spreading malware and stealing data.
While this security issue mostly affects government computers, it is a good reminder to make sure our software, especially our operating systems, are up to date.
Happy Lawyering!
