Shout Out! Daniel J. Siegel – Upcoming Webinars on Tackling COVID-19 Challenges in the Legal Profession!

Dan is a lawyer, speaker and tech enthusiast!

Dan and I just recorded a future episode for the TSL.P Podcast. It was a lot of fun and very informative. Dan is an attorney at Law Offices of Daniel J. Siegel LLC, and the Chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Legal Ethics and Professional Responsibility Committee. Dan caught my attention when I had signed up for and attended last week’s ABA Webinar: Working Remotely: Ethical Considerations During and After COVID-19. Dan was a co-presenter. In addition to his thriving practice, I noticed that he provides technology education and guidance through his company Integrated Technology Services LLC.

Dan is “sometimes called the ‘Geek lawyer,’ or the ‘high tech lawyer’ … Dan is certified to train a wide range of products, including CaseMap, TextMap, NoteMap, TimeMap, Concordance, Legal Files, Time Matters, and Worldox”. I figured his experience with technology and law would be a perfect fit for the podcast! And I was right, the interview was great!

In our upcoming episode, Dan and I talk about 1. Given COVID and Shelter at Home Orders, what three software programs are attorneys underutilizing while working from home; 2. What three simple workflows can attorneys use today; and 3. What three areas of legal technology will attorneys need to keep an eye on POST-COVID-19?

But before our podcast is released, Dan will be presenting some webinars I thought you might be interested in:

During these challenging times, it is easy to make mistakes. Unfortunately, those mistakes can lead to ethics complaints and malpractice lawsuits. This is why PBA’s Professional Liability Committee, Legal Ethics, and Professional Responsibility Committee, and Solo and Small Firm Section have joined together to bring you this free non-CLE webinar on malpractice and ethics issues to know during COVID-19.

June 1, 2020, at 10 AM ET. Dan will also present a live webcast on How Technology Can Ethically Unite the Legal Community During Emergencies. The program will:

  1. highlight the underlying ethical considerations necessary to use technology during emergencies,

  2. provide practical guidance applicable not only during challenging times, but also when attorneys are handling matters in more traditional times, and

  3. address the need for attorneys to become technologically competent in order to better serve clients, or their organizations.
