Need a quick charge of your device’s battery? Use Airplane Mode!

I find that having the radio signals, e.g., wifi, Bluetooth, cellular, etc., “on” while charging slows the device’s charge time. It appears that actively transmitting data over the radio is using a lot of your devices’ power. This usage is in direct conflict with your possible need for a quick charge and dash. By putting your device in Airplane Mode, you shut off all of the radios and reduce the battery drain while you are charging - I find that this makes the charge time multiple times faster.

But, if you need one or more of the radios to get work done, at least turn off as many of the transmitters on your device. Obviously, the more radios you leave on, the slower the battery charge will be.

I’ll talk about other “power” tips in future posts.

Remember, always use a surge protection on any of your electronic devices!

Happy Charging!
