Mac & Windows & More: Cleaning your devices!
Our devices are going to get dirty, dusty, smudgy, etc.
WARNING: You don’t want to get them wet. Spraying water, iodized water, or a special cleaning fluid (iodized water) directly on the device is not the smart thing to do. If liquid seeps into your device, phone, table, laptop, computer, you have a chance of ruining your electronics!
And when I say “damp”, I don’t mean dripping liquid but barely wet.
Here are some simple tips to keep you devices a little less messy.
COMPRESSED AIR: You can get a can of compressed air (with a nozzle included for just a few dollars). Not only is this good for blowing off dust from your device but its great for getting into those hard to reach areas - keyboard keys, speakers (stand alone or phone) and vents on your computer (laptop or desktop). Just make sure you keep the nozzle a safe distances from the target as the “air” can sometimes come out as a liquid form - and you don’t want that to drip into your device.
CLOTH or MICRO-CLOTH: Dry or damp, great to wipe down your devices.
MAGIC ERASERS: A great little cleaning utensil to gently scrub off marks and such from your devices (not screens) and keyboards.
Q-TIP: Use a dry or damp q-tip head to clear out the cracks, crevices and in between your keyboard keys when blowing compressed air just won’t do.
TOOTHPICK/PAPERCLIP: “Carefully” clean out those areas where the q-tip just won’t reach. DON’T PROBE TOO DEEPLY!
HAPPY CLEANING!
DISCLAIMER: Clean at your own risk. 😐
